A very accurate and deadly weapon, the crossbow is needed ingame for the training of the Crossbowmen unit. It fires heavy metal "bolts" that are very effective versus armoured troops. Disadvantages of the crossbow include shorter range compared to the archer's bow and a slow reloading time. It is made out of wood by a fletcher.
