In Fletcher's workshop, bows and crossbows are produced. Bows require 2 pieces ofwood. Crossbows require 3 pieces of wood, as well as take a bit more time to produce. When the bow is created, the fletcher will bring it to the armory, giving you the ability to produce more long ranged troops, provided the player has the right armor to create the troop, in this case, leather armor for a crossbowman, as archers do not need any armor. It is best to place the Fletcher's Workshop as close as possible to the stockpile and armory since the Fletcher walks slowly with his limp.

The Bow is a weapon used by the Archer. Bows are carved by fletchers, who work at their workshops. Bows require a few planks of wood, which are then carved into shape by the skilled fletcher using a small knife and a rope made from certain materials, such as flax or hemp.

There are many different types of bows. For example, composite bows are designed to force the user to use less power to fire the bow. Longbows are designed to fire across huge distances, and shortbows are designed for rapid fire. Crossbows, a different kind of bow, fires the bow using a winch, a pulley, and a trigger.
Archers would draw back their bows, load on the arrow, pull back the drawstring, and launch the arrow. The distance the arrow would fly depends on wind speed, how hard the archer pulled back the arrow, strength of the bow, etc. Because inexperienced archers take time to fire even one successful arrow, they are very vulnerable until they are skilled at the firing the bow. Crossbows, on the other hand, are easily used even by a peasant.

A very accurate and deadly weapon, the crossbow is needed ingame for the training of the Crossbowman unit. It fires heavy metal "bolts" that are very effective versus armoured troops. Disadvantages of the crossbow include shorter range compared to the archer's bow and a slow reloading time. It is made out of wood by a fletcher. The making of Crossbows in Stronghold requires 3 wood per bow versus 1 wood for Longbows.
