Animals are the units that are under nobody's control. They roam the map and some will attack if you get too close. They are in all versions of stronghold, and are often used as eyecandy.
Animals can be hunted for food by Hunters. Some animals are hostile and cannot be hunted for meat. Cows can also be domesticated for Cheese and Leather.
