50 wood (SHL)
The iron mine is an industry building, which extracts iron from iron ore.
Iron is a valuable material that can be collected by placing an iron mine on brown rocks. Two workers work at the mine, who melt iron into bars and make them ready for delivery in the stockpile. Iron is carried by either one of the workers or an ox (depending on game).
When 10 ingots pile up, the workers halt production until there is available space in the mine's storage.
Iron production is very slow, but it is invaluable for military production, namely swords, maces and plate armour. Additionally, a single iron bar sells comparably high in the market. The oil smelter also requires iron to be built.
