The iron mine is used for iron production. Iron is necessary for the most durable barracks units as equipment, as well as the oil smelter for defensive purposes.
Two miners operate the building: one of them mines rocks and prepares the iron bars, while another miner delivers the ready product to the stockpile on foot. The mine has a small storage that can store up to 10 ingots. When the storage is full, mining is brought to a halt. It is not uncommon that far-away mines fill up their inventories while the other worker is away making his delivery.
Iron can be used for weapon production by:
- a blacksmith, for forging maces and swords;
- an armourer, for crafting metal armour.
