Stronghold 2 is the sequel to Stronghold, and is much more sophisticated. Stronghold 2 is rendered in 3D which allows for easier movement. It has several view modes including an architect's view which looks down on the castle directly, allowing for easier placing of buildings.

More units are available and also several extra buildings. There are many more problems that can come with your castle including gong, rats, and unlawful peasants. This allows for the torturing of Peasants. If they turn criminal, they must go through the justice system while their job is halted. They must be re instituted to society by Torture.
