The Treasury is a financial building appearing in Stronghold 2. Here the player's gold is stored and it hosts a bailiff.
Usage[]
Clicking on the treasury will bring up a panel, where adjustments can be done. A slider can be pulled to the left or the right, depending on the measure of the dividends/taxes needed to handle. By default, it is set to normal taxes. Taxes are collected every month.
Treasuries can provide or take away popularity. By increasing taxes, the player will grow unpopular with their peasants regardless of the amount set. Various options are allowed for taxing; low (-2), normal (-4), high (-6), extortionate (-8), cruel (-12) and extra cruel (-16). Players can gain popularity by not taxing or bribing their peasants, only available in three options; none (+1), low (+4) and high (+8). In order for the bribe to take effect, the player must have the money for the month; otherwise, the effects of no taxes are applied.
The treasury needs 10 stone to build.
Trivia[]
- Thieves may be used to leech gold from an other player's treasury. Thieves will stand by the building and transfer gold to his lord in short intervals.
- An owned or allied treasury will indicate a rough amount of gold (up to 2400) to the other players. Each chest and gold pack represents 200 gold.
- Civilians will have various dialogue depending on what bribes or taxes they are being subjected to when clicked on.
